Water damage and mold don't wait — and neither do we. McDermott Construction handles the full arc of a loss, from emergency dry-out and certified mold remediation through complete reconstruction, with direct coordination with your insurance carrier the entire way.
Mold & Water Remediation
Most water losses pass through three or four different companies — an emergency dry-out crew, a mold remediator, a tester, and finally a builder. Every handoff is a chance for delay, finger-pointing, and gaps in the insurance file.
We keep it under one roof. McDermott carries a single, accountable scope from mitigation through reconstruction, documenting every step the way carriers expect — so your home gets dry, gets clean, and gets rebuilt without the runaround.
Our Process
A clear, documented sequence — so nothing gets missed and your claim stays clean.
Rapid water removal to stop the spread. We find the source, stop it, and pull standing water before it reaches framing and finishes.
Commercial air movers and dehumidifiers, with moisture readings logged daily until the structure is verified dry — not just dry to the touch.
Sealed containment, HEPA filtration, and safe removal of affected materials following industry-standard protocols to keep spores from spreading.
Independent post-remediation verification, so you have documented proof the space is clean before a single new board goes back up.
Drywall, flooring, cabinetry, paint, and trim rebuilt to match — or improve on — what was there. Same crew, same standard, seamless result.
We document scope and photos, build the estimate, and work directly with your adjuster — including supplements for hidden damage found along the way.
Sealed barriers and negative air keep spores out of clean areas while we work.
Affected drywall, insulation, and materials are removed and bagged, not just painted over.
HEPA vacuuming, antimicrobial treatment, and verified drying of everything that stays.
Third-party clearance testing before reconstruction — documented for you and your carrier.
Why Mold Is Different
Mold is a health issue, not just a cosmetic one. Left in walls, it keeps growing and can affect air quality and the people breathing it. The only durable fix is to find the moisture source, remove what's affected, and verify the space is clean.
We treat remediation as a controlled process with a paper trail — containment, removal, treatment, and independent clearance — so the problem is actually gone, and you can prove it.
Case Study · Water Damage
A Brentwood residence hit by significant water intrusion — dried, remediated, and rebuilt under one roof.
Water had worked its way into the floors and lower walls of this Brentwood home, saturating the original dark hardwood and baseboards and creating exactly the conditions mold needs to take hold. The owners needed it handled fast — and documented properly for their insurance claim.
We stopped the source, pulled the damaged flooring down to the slab, and removed affected drywall and base under sealed containment. After structural drying, treatment, and clearance, we rebuilt — new wide-plank light oak floors throughout and a refreshed kitchen and living space.
A brighter, fully restored home that looks better than before the loss — with a complete record of the mitigation, remediation, and reconstruction scope handed to the carrier. One team start to finish, no handoffs, no gaps.
