A finished home, head to toe
Before the loss, the house was fully built out — dark hardwood floors running through an open living and kitchen space, a custom kitchen, and finished bedrooms. This is the standard we'd be restoring it to.
Water damage and mold don't wait. McDermott carries the whole loss under one roof — emergency dry-out, certified mold remediation, and full reconstruction — documented the way your insurance carrier expects. Here's exactly how that looked on a recent Brentwood home.
Case Study · Water Damage
A polished Brentwood home took on serious water damage in its floors and lower walls. Follow the job from the first moisture reading to the finished, move-in-ready result — one team, every step.

Water rarely stops where you can see it. We took moisture readings across the floors and walls — the meter read deep into the "wet" range — and opened up the affected baseboards and drywall to trace exactly how far it had spread before deciding what had to come out.
Saturated flooring was pulled up to the slab and affected drywall and base were cut out under containment — fixtures and finished areas wrapped in plastic to keep dust and spores from spreading. Debris was bagged and hauled on site as we went.
Commercial air movers and HEPA air scrubbers ran throughout the home, with moisture monitored until the structure read dry — not just dry to the touch. Surfaces were treated and the space verified clean before a single new board went back up, with the readings documented for the carrier.
With the home dry and clean, the same team rebuilt it — new wide-plank light oak floors throughout, fresh drywall and base, and a refreshed kitchen and living space. The result is brighter and more current than the original, and move-in ready.
One Contractor, Start to Finish
Most water losses pass through three or four companies — a dry-out crew, a remediator, a tester, then a builder. Every handoff is a chance for delay and a hole in the insurance file. We keep it all in-house and documented, so your home gets dry, gets clean, and gets rebuilt without the runaround.
